Artificial Intelligence (AI) has long been seen as an emerging partner to medical professionals. Five years ago, the first large language models (LLMs) became accessible to the general public. In 2023, the healthcare and medical ecosystem began using machine learning and AI toolsets for diagnostic assistance, patient documentation, drug discovery and many other purposes. 

AI in the healthcare industry is at a pivotal place, as we begin to fully assess the continuing challenges with this technology. The medical community also sees clear opportunities for continued refinement and careful evaluation of toolsets that can achieve a greater likelihood of positive patient outcomes.
